Stats- 20 weeks

I've always thought it was fun to read about other people's pregnancies, even before mine... Here are some things that are fun to know: (sorry if you disagree!)

1. Weight gained: That's a tough one because it's 2 different numbers. From the time I got pregnant, I've probably gained about 11-13 lbs. But I gained 5 just to help out in the process of getting pregnant...So to get back to my ideal weight I've got to loose a good 17 pounds already!! I'm actually very excited for all that exercise.

2. Movement: I started feeling his flutters around 16 weeks. Now I feel him rolling, kicking, and I swear doing flips and whatnot, getting stronger... Last night Jake was watching my belly, and he actually SAW my tummy get kicked a couple times!! He was so excited, it was cute. He's been able to feel our little guy since I was about 17 weeks but boy oh boy apparently it's cool to watch it! I'm so grateful we've been able to feel him this much, if you ask me, it's a blessing!

3. Have I bought anything?: Jake bought a running stroller, and I bought a little outfit. Nothing much yet. I have been given gifts, and I LOVE them!!! My mom and aunt did some shopping this weekend and holy cow it makes it more exciting when you have clothes to look at...and look at...and look at...everyday.....

4. Overwhelming Questions I ponder everyday: How do you raise a good son? How do you potty train a boy? Where do I even begin on the nursery? I'm terrible with a capitol "T" at decorating, and everyone always has such cute baby rooms. I'm just no good.

5. Stretch marks: despite my large belly, I have yet to get them. But it's itchy. Any recommendations to prevent stretch marks? Based on my genetics I have a feeling they're coming...

6. Thrown Up: once. Didn't expect to either, because I usually just dry heaved (this was all in the 1st Tri). So it went onto the kitchen floor..nice image there for ya.

7. 2nd Tri as great as they say?: YES. I love it. I feel wonderful. I still get sore after a full day of chores and stuff. And gosh getting out of bed is truly an interesting feeling (like how you can feel everything dropping back down). But I am in such a good mood these days!

8. Cravings: I crave all the things I normally cut out of my diet...butter, salt, lots of fat.. But if I just eat something healthy then it goes away (usually). I find myself wanting things I loved when I was really young. Donuts? I never eat donuts. Ice cream sandwiches? Can't remember the last time I had or wanted one until now. Chocolate frozen yogurt with chocolate sprinkles? Haven't had that since Golden Swirl was around and I was 7. Oh and I LOVE cheese.

9. Emotions: I was not myself the first trimester. I was so grumpy, irritable, and my poor husband thought he had lost his Kim forever. I just had to explain I couldn't help it because that's just how you are when your nauseous all day. Nowadays, I think I'm pretty much back to my normal self, phew!! I cry at lots of things like in shows or commercials or movies. I've probably had one mini outburst (again Jake felt the wrath).

10. My dreams are whacked out crazy crazy and vivid. That's all I have to say about that.

Being pregnant is really a lovely experience. I can't imagine not having him in there. I am just so grateful and humbled that I've been given this second chance. Life will change so much, and I really don't know what to expect, but I'm super excited for whatever it brings!

Love this. Such a great idea. You answered all the questions that I have but have never asked. Glad to hear you are feeling better. Pregnancy is great, but it is far more fun when you are done!

So exciting!! Just wait til you get to put the little outfits on him you have been staring at for months! It's so much fun! You will love being a mommy. And as far as the stretch marks go, I do have some recommendations! I honest to goodness did not get one stretch mark on my stomach, but did get one on my right bum cheek! I alternated between palmers stretch mark cream and coco butter vaseline brand. As for the itching, there is a gel that Vaseline makes in cocoa butter that helps so much! Should be right there next to the lotion, I highly recommend it. You are halfway there, woo hoo!!!

you are so cute! I love to hear how things are going for my friends in their pregnancies. I too was not myself in the first tri. Second is such a joy compared and it's amazing how quickly it just switches on you. As for stretch marks and the constant belly itching, try using 'Mother's Special Blend' oil from Whole Foods Market. It's completely natural(my favorite part!) so you aren't putting fillers and chemicals on your skin, it leaves you feeling relieved all day, it helps tighten skin after delivery and prevents stretch marks. I have 3 months to go and not a sign of a single stretch mark.

Cute post :)
*Stretch Marks - I feel like genetics are 90%, how big you get is 9%, & 1% is prevention. I didn't get any until my last few weeks and only on my bum & boobs (yup, weird!). I am an avid lotion user anyway but I really don't think it prevented them, but I NEVER got itchy skin so maybe it is good for that. If you get them, they fade sooo much that it just isn't worth worrying about (I was the WHOLE time).
*Wiggles - I was lucky enough to feel Brekkie early too & it is such a blessing. Nothing is as reassuring as feeling your little one move. By far the best part of being pregnant! I love that Jake likes seeing OP move. Nick thought it was "unnatural" (insert eye rolling here).
*Weight gain - don't stress it! I promise, you'll go back to normal :) Just trust me on that. If I can do it, I just KNOW you will.
*Questions - don't worry, you figure stuff out as you go!
*Emotions - just wait, it gets worse AFTER giving birth. I still tear up over random things. I think it just comes with the mom title. :)
OK that was a long reply...sorry. :)
PS: I miss your belly, I haven't seen you in a few weeks! Poke OP for me.
