I Have a 1 1/2 Year Old?

I don't believe you. He is 18 months? Um what happened to the last year and a half!?
It's a harsh reality, Austin is into full-blown toddlerhood and there's nothin' to slow him down!

20% for weight: 23 lbs
68% height: 32 1/2"
Head is 95% (a nice change from 100+)

My favorite things about Austin at 1 1/2 years are:

-He is super social and loves to be a part of the action. Last weekend, we grabbed some dinner and ate at a random park. The second (no exaggeration) we found a place to sit, Austin took off to play with the kids on the playground.  We ate our dinner and just watched him, completely amused at how fascinated he was at watching them play and joining in here and there. He'll literally go stand inches away from a group of kids and just watch them..or offer them one of his toys haha.  It's kind of funny, since he's still in the "parallel play" stage, he just sorta gets himself right into the group and usually switches back and forth from playing to watching. I just dread the day some kid is mean to him since he gets so close...that will crush his feelings!

-He still loves to cuddle. Obviously when he is sick or tired..but at random points throughout the day he really loves a good cuddle, especially if his blanky is involved!

-Although we are waiting and waiting for him to talk, I really love his cute little language and intonations. All day long, he looks us in the eyes and speaks sentences..of his own language.

-I love witnessing the connections he makes. Even though it's still a while off, I can't wait for pre-school and kindergarten :)

-He likes to "reorganize" the fridge. He takes out each and every item he can reach. Then puts them all back in. We currently are missing the mayo. It's been MIA for like 3 days. Yikes!

-He still loves those toys he can push and run with. He'll ask to take one outside where he proceeds to run up and down the sidewalk with it.

-When he sees a furry animal like a kitty, dog, otter, bunny, etc, he will lay his head on his shoulder, grin, and say "mmmm" like he is pretending to cuddle it.

Easter Egg hunt at Brad and Carly's house!

Easter morning..still a little sleepy...

Ready for church!

The other day Austin decided every SINGLE toy in his room needed to go "night night" so we said "night night" to them, one by one as he put them into this pile. All I can say is stuffed animals have interesting sleep overs ;-)

Austin is the center of our lives and I cannot imagine the day when he goes to school..goes on a mission..or worse yet, when we are empty-nesters. We will look back on these days and probably cry. But seriously your kids bring you so much joy. No wonder families are the most important thing on this Earth! It's all starting to make sense ;-)

Baby Austin & Work On Your Aim Mom!

This was Austin a little while ago.. He was pretty sick with a high fever. Although I feel terrible for him when he gets sick, a tiny part of me LOVES sick Austin because he cuddles with us so much. He is not our baby Austin anymore and when he is sick he will lay with us forever!

On a side note. Yesterday Jake and I were playing outside kicking the ball around with Austin. The second I got the ball and wound up to kick, Austin put his hands up to his face, covering it. Yes, on several occasions, I have booted the ball (aiming for Jake) but ended up pelting my 18mo old son square in the face, knocking him flat off his feet. What kind of mother am I, anyway?! I really don't have much to say for myself!
