Lagoon!

It was Lagoon day for daddy's work so off we went to have some fun!

I was skeptical (but always hopeful) Austin would enjoy the rides. We've tried those little cars they have at the mall..you just put a quarter in and they move around. Each time, Austin would grip the sides and get this look on his face like "why is this thing jumbling me around?" and at the same time try to get out..which is kind of funny to watch.  But turns out he is an animal when it comes to Lagoon! He had a blast! The hardest part for him was waiting in line. He didn't understand why he couldn't get on the second the ride stopped...and that he had to wait for the kids in front of him. We finally got smart and I would hold his place in line while he played somewhere else until his turn got close.

Here is a video of the boats..one of his favorites. He rode them over and over :)

Austin's first official ride at Lagoon was this, called the Odysea. You ride in these sea urchent-looking things and they go up and down (but you can control it) and you also get sprayed.  We were on our way to the little kid rides and the second he saw this one, he asked to go on it. I was thinking it was a little extreme for a first ride, but it was only one of two I could actually ride with him so I figured it would be good to try it. I definitely wanted his first ride to be with me!

Little Buddy sitting in his big seat!

He loved the ride, with the exception of getting direct sprays to the face haha. I did a poor job of blocking him too. This is how it went: "Mommy will block you Austin, I won't let you get sprayed again" (SPRAY) "Ok this time I won't let you get wet " (SPRAY) "Ok this time I promise" (SPRAY) "Oh isn't that fun! You got sprayed in the (SPRAY) face!"

Carter was so awesome to ride with Austin his first time on the cars! I was so nervous to let Austin go himself. Apparently they don't let you ride with your kid...I totally thought they would. There are only like 2 or 3 rides out of a ton that you can actually go on with them. Anyway I honestly thought Austin would try to crawl out of his seat belt, fall out, then get ran over (worried mommy brain). But he did so good!!

I am glad Austin is at an age where we can reason with him and explain things to him pretty easily. Before he went alone I pointed to the kids before him to show how they were sitting on their bums and turning the wheel. I also told him if he stood up, he would fall on his head (hey scare tactics sometimes work if they're true!)

The first time he rode, he didn't want to get out at the end. But after that, he was pretty good about realizing you have to get off the ride.

My mom and I took him on the mini Tidal Wave several times. It kind of goes in circles and back and forth at the same time. My favorite ride as a kid was the Tidal Wave so we're just getting him warmed up for the future!

Look how dizzy he got:

hehe JUST KIDDING.... This picture was taken BEFORE the ride even started. For some reason, I swear 70 percent of Austin's pictures turn out like this!

Those of you who have been to Mexico will appreciate this picture. The Bimbo Bread bear, Osito!! He is on a lot of the Bimbo pastries and bread packaging in Mexico. Um not to mention I like to think he is  a polar bear :)

Can't go home without a ride after dark on the carousel! Austin had his game face on the whole time. Like "don't let go. don't let go. don't let go."

It was so fun watching Austin on the rides. He rode and rode! We stayed pretty late, which is just what you do when you go to Lagoon :)
