Summer is flying by, as usual. Austin is loving it though! His favorite things to do are "daring things" like sliding off the coffee table onto the floor, climbing all pieces of furniture, and throwing big toys and his chairs down stairs...Hmm I guess that's all cool in boy terms!
It's been fun to hear words from Austin! One of the cutest is "wow" when he is amazed at something. He also loves to tell us stories. He uses some words but mostly hand gestures, body language, noises, facial expressions, and mimics emotions he had at the time the story took place (like crying). He tells the same couple stories for about a week then picks new ones. They are all stories about something he has done earlier that day or week.
Some of Austin's recent stories:
-when he had a hard time pooping and mama and dada had to help him (I will not go into detail to spare you!!) But part of his explaining the story includes him grunting like he is trying to push poop out.
-visiting daddy at work and seeing him with his hat on, and riding in the big bread trucks
-he tells us about how every morning when he wakes up he calls out for us (usually just me) and I am still sleeping. Lately he's been waking up between 6-7. The good thing is, I can give him his binky and he will lay back down and just be quiet or go back to sleep for about 45 min.
-How mama actually took a nap once on the couch. I was wearing a pink dress and every time he sees that dress, he tells me this story.
-how daddy takes naps on the couch :)
He has been going to nursery at church, and has been doing really well. It's crazy my little boy comes home with coloring pages from church! Reminds me how excited I am for preschool and kindergarten!
I thought life went fast before Austin...That was nothin'!! Makes you want to treasure all the moments for sure!
"Jumping" off the table
Swimming!
Blowing bubbles, choking on water, and giving us the stink eye for capturing it on camera:
He looks too old here!
We celebrated our 5th Anniversary! Crazy!
The Zoo
I was so disappointed. The polar bear wasn't even out. No where to be seen. Sad days.
Playing with Uncle Jo Jo!
Sharing a cracker with his polar bear
My mom and sister thought he needed a baby doll. They also thought we would hide it from Austin so he couldn't play with it haha. Well, we set it out with his toys and he really doesn't ever play with it. Just once he put it "down for a nap" on our couch. Supplying it with everything you need in life: blanky, crayons, and scriptures haha.
I remember when he got this little yellow truck, there was a warning on it explaining DO NOT LET KIDS RIDE THIS TOY. I remember looking at Jake saying "that's the dumbest warning, why would any kid try to ride this thing?" Well.....
Austin "helps" with laundry.. which means he hands me ALL the clothes from the laundry basket within 20 seconds haha! So they end up creating a new pile, on the floor.
